Car-Free Weekend: 25 & 27 October 2019

Mighty Velo was once again at Car-Free Weekend! This time at Car-Free Friday at Telok Ayer Street (25 Oct) and Car-Free Sunday at St. Andrews Road (27 Oct). We had a great time at both venues and spread the importance of good riding practices and let the public know more about our variety of products!

The car-less streets were packed with event goers and many of them came by our booths at both locations to check out our e-scooters and folding bikes. The people at Car-Free Sunday event even got to try out our NEW soon to be releasing Birdy, IF Move and REACH folding bikes.

Car-Free Friday at Telok Ayer Street, 25 October

We reached the event venue at 10.30am, a good half an hour before it started. Our booth was right in front of Thian Hock Keng temple. Once we were done setting up, it didn’t take long for the crowds to begin pouring in.

Many event goers stopped by our booth to check out our products. The stand out of the day was definitely the Segway-Ninebot MAX. Many were sold on getting their own after they heard about its many features, especially when they found out it could go up to 65km per single battery charge.

Another fan favorite of the day was the CarryMe folding bike. It’s compact size and cute design garnered a lot of attention from event goers. Alot of them liked the fact that it was so light and easy to roll around.

Car-Free Sunday at St Andrews Road, 27 October

On Sunday, our crowd expanded to include families, recreational cyclists, and volunteers for the other events happening in conjunction with Car-Free Weekend. Our stall was set up right after the flag-off point for the activities, so many people took a moment to check out what we had to offer.

On top of the e-scooters and bikes we brought on Friday, we also took the new BIRDY, IF Move, and REACH foldable bikes with us.

The BIRDY got a lot of love, being a name that’s already known to many cycling enthusiasts. Those who got a chance to test ride the different variants of the Birdy were highly impressed by the GT and City models.

Our REACH bike also garnered its own crowd, it’s sleek and sporty design causing it to stand out to passers-by. Those who took it for a test ride liked how fast it could go. It’s ability to fold down into such a compact form surprised many.

LTA Active Mobility Week-Parking Day

LTA Parking Day is a closed event that is organised yearly by the LTA for their own staff. This year it happened at two locations, Sin Ming Drive and Hampshire Road. We at Mighty Velo were given a special invite to head down to both locations to be a part of the event.

We had a lot of fun at both LTA Sin Ming Drive and LTA Hampshire Road. A Lot of the LTA staff came over to our booths to test ride our various products. The star of the show was the Mileage Monster itself, the Segway-Ninebot MAX. Along with the MAX, we also brought the Segway-Ninebot ES2,  the Segway-Ninebot MiniLITE, the Pacific CarryMe and the Pacific CarryAll.

Sin Ming Drive

We reached the event location at 11am. It was packed with various other booths. From activeSG members asking the staff to sign up for plans to food stalls selling various kinds of Singapore delights to even a vegetable seller who was selling organic vegetables! It was lively and we were blown away by the activities around us. It didn’t take long for us to set up and we very quickly had our first pateron.  A big hit at the event was our CarryMe Foldable bicycle. The LTA staff enjoyed riding the CarryMe around and one eager customer was pleasantly surprised when he realised he could carry the CarryMe over his head with ONE HAND!

As this location was indoors and at a smaller venue, we only brought the Segway-Ninebot ES2, CarryMe Foldable Bicycle and CarryAll Foldable Tricycle.

Hampshire Road

We reached LTAs office at Hampshire Road at 10.30 am. The larger of the two venues, there really was a lot to see here.It felt like a small fair, with so many booths and pop-up stores around us.

Once our booth was set up there immediately a rush of people who made their way to our booth. The Segway-Ninebot MAX was a hit with the crowd, garnering the most attention. A close second was the fun and compact Pacific CarryMe Foldable Bicycle. A lot of the staff loved this bike because of how easy it was to fold and carry about.
